This Week’s Challenge: Surrendering Every Area to This Jesus with Godly Sorrow

This Jesus—the crucified, risen, and exalted One—is the only one worthy of our worship, our obedience, and the center of our entire life. The opposite is inviting Him in only on our terms, keeping control where it feels comfortable. This week, let Godly sorrow, regret, and humility pierce your heart as you surrender fully to Him.

Daily Challenge (Work on these 3 areas each day this week):

  • Examine one area of your life where Jesus is not yet Lord, and let Godly sorrow and regret over your resistance humble you. Honestly ask: Where am I still in control—my money, relationships, time, thoughts, anger, or plans? Allow the Holy Spirit to cut you to the heart (like Acts 2:37), grieve you over offending Him, and humble you before His rightful throne.
  • Surrender one specific decision or habit to Him each day, embracing humility and regret for past self-rule. Choose one practical area (e.g., how I spend money today, how I speak to others, what I consume, how I handle stress) and pray: “Jesus, I’m sorry for holding this back. I regret my independence—take it now.” Then obey in humility, even when it stings.
  • Thank Him for being worthy, and worship Him fully in that area with fresh humility. Close each day by praising: “This Jesus, You are Lord over [specific area]. I worship You as the only One worthy. Thank You for loving me enough to demand all of me. I’m humbled by my past resistance and grateful for Your grace.”

Prayer to Start the Week: “Lord Jesus, You are both Lord and Messiah. Forgive me for treating You as optional. This week, let Godly sorrow, regret, and humility pierce me so I can surrender every area to You—the only One worthy. Amen.”
