Coming into a church for the first time can be kind of intimidating, but we don’t want it to be! Below are a series of Q&A we’ve found help people get a feel for New Hope before they step through the door.
Who goes there? What ages make up your church?
Gratefully we are an inter-generational church – meaning that all the generations are represented. We try our best to pay attention to what each generation has to offer. We seek to learn from the childishness of our kids and the wisdom of our seniors. We also have people from many diverse church backgrounds that attend.
What are your services like?
We like to include a variety of elements in our worship service. These things vary from week to week. We sing hymns and contemporary worship music. Sometimes we have times of silence where we can reflect. Each month we take communion together. Every Sunday there is a message that looks to both understand the Bible and understand how our lives fit into the biblical story (notice it’s not the other way around).
What should I wear?
Whatever you feel comfortable wearing. We believe that what a person looks like on the outside is not nearly as important as on the inside. Some dress in suits and some come in jeans and t-shirts.
When are the service times?
Our morning service begins at 10:o0 a.m. on Sundays (they go about an hour, usually not longer than an hour and 15 minutes).
What about my children?
During our 9:00 a.m. Sunday School hour we have classes for all ages – nursery through high school. During our 10:00 a.m. worship service we have classes for nursery-6th grade, with Preschool/kindergarten worshiping in their room, the Castle Garden. Elementary, Jr. & Sr. High worship with their parents in “big church.” They will be dismissed before the message to their respective classes. Each child’s class has a Bible based curriculum with wonderful teachers and helpers who share the message of Jesus.
Do you offer a Sunday School?
Yes we do! We call them Adult Education Classes. Classes are from 9:00 to 9:45 am. each Sunday morning through December. Classes are designed for all age groups.
Brother Chad,
You and your wife are invited to be our guests for the Gideons Annual Pastor’s Appreciation Banquet. It will be held at the Red Lion Inn, 4751 Lindle Rd, Harrisburg (just off I-283, Swatara Exit), November 7th, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. If you cannot attend, you may sent someone else to represent your congregation.
Our speaker is a former president of The Gideons International, David Martin. His wife, Emily, will speak of the Auxiliary. And we’ll hear the testimony of a pastor from Capitol Heights, MD, Stephen Joyce, who shares how God turned his misery into his ministry.
Please let us know you’ll be attending by October 24th. If you’re late, you’ll still be welcomed. We hope to see you there. It’ll be a nice evening out for you and your wife, and you’ll enjoy fellowship with other local pastors…and us.

Subject: Christians Register and Vote Early. Jim Yoshioka
To: Pastors, Elders, Staff, New Hope Church, Harrisburg, PA 17112
From: Jim Yoshioka, Holy Spirit filled Christian, 3rd generation Japanese American, officially first born of the Japanese Internment Assembly at Stockton Fairground, CA, CA National Guard vet 1965-1970 and member of the Leisure World America First Republican Club, Seal Beach, CA 90740-3354
As Christians, we must defend our Christian values, liberty and freedom as well as pro-life for the unborn, protecting our children from CRT, of the transgender ideology, change the causes for inflation to soar, allowing over 20 million illegals to bring Fentanyl (over 100,000 deaths), human trafficking (over 200,000 children unaccounted today), former convicted murders, rapists, drug dealers, and giving free benefits from our taxes for transportation, staying at 5-star hotels, meals/snacks with debit cards and I-phones, through the porous border, while many Americans are not receiving enough
support for the hurricane disaster (depleted, spent for illegals benefits of at least half a billion dollars), with lies, deceptions and hating Christians for speaking the truth, by the Democrats/Left.
The Republican votes will shut down the open borders, deport the illegals, lowering interest rates for affordable housing, reducing crime, increasing college education/job opportunities and for improving retirement savings for your future, bringing prosperity to all Americans and peace to the world. Trump has a great track record of helping Blacks, Hispanics, Asians and other minorities for increasing businesses, prison reform for high school/college education, job and college funding opportunities.
Sadly, 40% of Christians don’t vote (25 million registered and 15 million not registered). When Scripture says about stewardship of our tithing, offerings, talents, skills, abilities, wealth and time, as our vote does count as stewardship. We will be held accountable at the end. (Matthew 25:14-30). Get your ones who don’t vote–to register early and make sure their vote counts for all the Republican candidates.
Elect Republican Congressmen, Congresswomen and Senate candidates to win the House and Senate for Trump/Vance agenda.
See video “Letter to the American Church” by Eric Metaxas (2022).
Please support the Faith & Freedom Coalition as they immensely help in the election process for our Christian values in the forefront.
We’re praying for you and for President Trump.
Thank you!
